GSM 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G indoor coverage solutions using optical fibre for connection to remote units
Known issues when using coaxial cables:
- Coaxial cables are limited in length to 150m for connections between main and secondary hubs due to the loss on higher frequency bands.
- Coaxial cables are relatively thick and less flexible.
- Feed through holes from one area to another are sometimes too narrow to allow the passage of many cables.
- Extra low loss cables are relatively expensive.
Advantages of optical fibre cables:
- Cable lengths over 5km up to 20km are possible between hubs.
- The optical fibre cables are relatively thin and can contain many fibres.
- Many DAS configurations adapt to any specific situation.
- Easy installation for invisible cable routing in an already finished building.
- Fibre interfaces are built inside the standard GSM 19inch cabinets.
